P.S.R. (St. Hilary Parish School of Religion)

The St. Hilary Religious Education programs seek to aid parishioners in deepening their understanding of and embracing their rich spiritual inheritance. The largest of these programs, P.S.R., Parish School of Religion begins with kindergarten through Gr. 8 (Monday evenings). The Religious Education Office also offers a Family Catechesis Home School Program (Gr. 3-7), Junior Ambassadors for Life (where Gr. 8  students learn critical thinking skills as they study and debate the life issues), as well as Parent/Child Sacramental Retreats, with the hope that our living Catholic faith will become more integrated and nurtured throughout our lives. We attempt to foster and deepen each person’s personal relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church.

Adult and teen volunteers are needed to make our programs successful.

Family Catechesis

This is a parent-led home school program for Grades 3-7. With the benefit of an instructional guide, grade level specific textbooks per student and on-line resources, parents are assigned specific themes of Catholicism, monthly, to teach their children at home. One Sunday morning a month families will come together as a community to examine the themes more deeply through prayer, games, stories and activities. Families and their children are also encouraged to join numerous of the Monday night PSR seasonal events such as Masses, the Christmas Pageant, Stations of the Cross, and Choose Life (Gr. 6 & 7) presentations. Contact Jeannie Hohlefelder for more information or to register, (330) 867-1055, ext. 213 or
