Carissa Patton
Carissa Patton
Carissa Patton, Director of Music and Liturgy, oversees the music program at St. Hilary, which includes planning and playing for weekend, funeral and wedding Liturgies, training cantors, directing the Adult choir, Handbell choir and organizing special performances throughout the year. A native of North Canton, Ohio, Carissa has been active in church music since she was ten. Past experience includes choir director, organist, and cantor positions in Roman Catholic, Episcopal and United Methodist churches. Additionally, she served as a K-12 music educator in public schools and as an accompanist and graduate associate conductor for instrumental and choral ensembles at the university level.
Carissa attended Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, earning a BM in Music Education and an MM in Performance – Instrumental Conducting. She is an active member of the Church Music Association of America, the American Guild of Organists, the National Pastoral Musicians Association, and Sigma Alpha Iota International Women’s Music Fraternity.
