Sr. Marlene's Bio
Sister Marlene M. LoGrasso
Sr. Marlene has been a Pastoral Minister at St. Hilary Parish since 1991. She is an Ursuline Sister from
Youngstown, Ohio. Sr. Marlene was born in Cleveland and moved to Youngstown in 1946. After graduating from
Ursuline High School in 1956 she entered the Ursuline Sisters in Youngstown.
In 1959 she began her 30 years of teaching in the Youngstown Diocese. The last 15 were spent at Ursuline
High School. Sr. Marlene spent the 90-91 school year at Loyola University in Chicago and received a Masters in
Pastoral Studies. At the end of that year she came to St. Hilary Parish as Volunteer Coordinator. Her job grew
to what it is today.
Sr. Marlene coordinates the Baptism Program for St. Hilary. She also coordinates the Eucharistic Ministers to
the Homebound. These are her two main jobs. Sr. Marlene is a contact person for the Celebration of the Arts, Surviving
Spouses, the Health and Wellness Committee, the Bereavement Outreach, and the Journey Women. She is a member of the
Stewardship Committee and The Celebration of the 50thAnniversary Committee. Her volunteer activity is that she is a
member of the 11:00 a.m. choir.
Sr. Marlene is celebrating 50 years of religious life. She gives thanks to God for all that is and is saying yes to
all that will be. Solo Dei Gloria!
