Vibrant Liturgy and Worship
Liturgy is the source and summit of our lives as Catholic people. Inspired by God's word and
nourished by the Eucharist, we go forward to live the Gospel Message and serve others each week.
We cherish the opportunities to celebrate our faith through the ongoing sacramental life of the
community, especially in the rights of RCIA, infant baptism, and Holy Week, culminating in the
Easter Vigil.
In listening to our people, we discovered the aspects of our worship that are most nourishing
and life giving for them:
- Homilies that are relevant, upbeat, and motivating.
- Music that is uplifting, diverse, reflective, and participatory.
- Liturgy that is a community experience, well-prepared, focused, owned by the people,
welcoming, and supportive.
We are committed to sustaining the liturgical life of St. Hilary and to further expanidng our
parishoner's participation in worship by:
- Deepening our understanding of the Word through homilies, witnesses, and other creative
approaches to preaching.
- Enhancing and expanding our music ministry.
- Exploring ways to increase the participation in our worship through invitation, outreach
to specific groups, and openness to new ideas.
- Addressing new documents from Rome concerning liturgy such as the General Instruction of
the Roman Missal.
