First Communion
First Communion
Baptized children are eligible to begin the sacramental preparation process if they meet the
following criteria:
- They are in the second grade or higher.
- They have completed a full year of religious education through the Parish School of Religion (P.S.R.)
or a Catholic grade school in which they have demonstrated good attendance and participation.
- They are commencing a second year of religious education through P.S.R. or a Catholic grade school.
Children who attend St. Hilary Grade School receive sacramental preparation at school. Parental participation
is required at parent sessions, practice(s) for First Communion, celebrations of the sacraments of First
Reconciliation and First Communion, and, if available, at Jesus Day. Communal celebrations of their first Sacrament
of Communion will be held on May 8, 2010.
