Confirmation

We confirm children in Gr. 8 at St. Hilary Parish after beginning preparation in Gr. 7 with, among other events, the Holy Spirit Retreat for all parishioners who have completed their religious education from Gr. 1-8. At the end of Gr. 7, on Sunday, May 20, 2012, parents and candidates attend a required initial meeting where more intense preparation begins, such as disseminating portfolios that candidates complete over the summer, including choosing and meeting with sponsors, and completing 15 hours of works of mercy service. Various assignments follow during the school year, as well as required meetings for parents and candidates and (local) sponsors. Confirmation practice and celebration will be April 28, 2012.
